Western Red Cedar

Green Siding Options

We make our siding out of Tight Knot Grade # 1 Western Red Cedar which is resistant to insects, decay, and moisture damage, so it is great option for the west coast weather systems.

The rich wood grain and variety of tones from light to reddish brown create a warm natural timeless look. Western Red Cedar receives treatment well, you can re-stain or paint the material over time to refresh the look that you desire.

Cedar Siding is a sustainable choice it is a renewable resource and has a lower environment impact than using synthetic or non-renewable materials. Cedar Siding also can contribute to assisting in insulating the building by regulating temperature and reducing energy consumption.

Stock Items and Planing Set Up Fee

We are working on building some stock siding items; however, quantities can vary. We would recommend ordering 2-3 weeks before you require the planed material to ensure you have it in time for your project.

Any stock items would be ready in 2-3 days from time of ordering, please confirm at time of quoting if the material is in stock.

Planed siding pricing includes a $0.20 planing fee on the Linear Foot price, compared to our Grade #1 full dimension lumber. Please see below or on the siding price list.

As we work to build stock items our policy is changing, moving forward all items highlighted in blue are no longer subject the planing set-up fee, no matter the size of the order.

If the item is not highlighted in blue than the planing set-up fee applies, orders under 750 LF will have a $150.00 set-up fee. Some of the products that include the set-up fee are overlength boards, 14’ and longer, custom sizing (different than noted) and less common planed items.

If you are looking for a custom sized siding board, we can see if it is something we can match. Please bring in a sample to the office or send us photos of the end profile and reveal, with a tape measure for sizing.

Tongue and Groove Green Siding

Tongue & Groove Siding can be installed vertically or horizontally. It gets its name from the joinery of the pieces, the “tongue” on one edge of the boards fits snugly into the recess “groove” creating an interlocking bond that seals the joints from the elements. T&G can be installed in 2 ways, a subtle V-shape where the boards meet, or a nickel gap, which is a small uniform space between the boards.

Bevel Siding

Bevel has a rough face with a thicker bottom edge and thinner top edge allowing the boards to overlap when installed and provides a timeless look with the overlap creating a shadow line for interest. The overlap helps shed water from the siding, protecting the building from moisture. Our bevel is made from green lumber and has a rough face.

Board and Batten Siding

Our lumber for Board and Batten is full dimension, rough cut and green. The full dimension 1” board increases the durability and longevity of the siding.

Boards are run vertically and consists of wide planks (Boards) and narrower strips (Battens) placed over the seams. The battens create a dimensional look to the home’s exterior. As the boards seams are covered by the battens, it provides weatherproofing. Board and Batten can be easily customized, as you can choose different width for the Board and Battens.

Channel Siding

Channel Siding can be installed horizontally or vertically to reach your desired look. The boards are milled where a small groove is removed from the long edge, bottom of the board and a channel on the top side of the opposite long edge. This creates a 1” drop channel, this gives the siding the room to expand and contract with compromising the structure of the board. Our Channel is made from green lumber and has a rough face.
